Finally the day has come where I can unveil the little collaboration I have been working on with Danielle from Dinosaur Toes. Danielle and I decided to get together and create something special in aid of a fantastic charity. The Rachael Horton Compassionate Care Fund is something very close to Danielle's heart.....so I'll let her tell you a little bit about it:
"On April 8th, 2010, Rachael Horton, along with her husband Aaron, was killed in a devastating apartment fire; on that day, animals and pets lost a dear and devoted friend. Before her passing, Rachael would use money from her own paycheck to provide treatments to animals when their owners weren't able to afford it. The Rachael Horton Compassionate Care Fund was set up in Rachael's memory to honor her dream of having no pet turned away from life-saving treatments, or face euthanasia, due to an owner's inability to pay the vet's bill. Through generous donations and local events, animals that may have been euthanized have instead been treated just as Rachael would have wanted!"
Pictured below are the pieces up for auction. One of Lost Cabin's vintage hand-dyed slips, the "Apple Isle" (fits sizes S-L), and a stunning hammered Brass & Chalcedony pendant, attached to a section of polished brass chain by Dinosaur Toes. Both pieces have been created exclusively for this auction and 100% of the proceeds will go directly to The Rachael Horton Compassionate Care Fund. A lovely treat for yourself or the perfect Christmas gift for someone special. Please spread the word by tweeting, blogging, facebooking all your pals and help us keep Rachael's legacy alive.
